Sold! A Rock To Keep Away Tigers

Bear Patrol Simpsons

We have a non believer amongst us! Coincidences are just chance happenings and have no meanings says Philip Carr and goes on to give me the following amusing scenario. It's from an episode of The Simpsons (Season 7, Much Apu about Nothing):

Homer: Not a bear in sight. The 'Bear Patrol' must be working like a charm.

Lisa: That’s specious reasoning, Dad.

Homer: Thank you, dear.

Lisa: By your logic I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away.

Homer: Oh, how does it work?

Lisa: It doesn’t work.

Homer: Uh-huh.

Lisa: It’s just a stupid rock. But I don’t see any tigers around, do you?

Homer: Lisa, I want to buy your rock.

Now us believers of synchronicity aren't that gullible surely!

  1. Are we talking about this Philip Carr ?

If we are thanks for the intro,I have never heard of him before,Mike.

    Nice You Tube of him giving a talk here;

    1. No, it's not that Philip Carr! Just been to the link you left - well, how weird is that - thanks for the intro!!!

    2. Well,that is a "chance happening" then.
There are a heap of You Tubes and interesting books by Philip Carr-Gomm to explore, and I doubt if I would have ever heard of him if it wasn't for the other Philip Carr saying that there are no coincidences.

    3. Darren: I've actually got one of his books and didn't realise "The Book of English Magic"!!

  2. Odd. At least one of the simpsons' writer is a big believer in synchros. But you're right, we synchro believers are not THAT gullible.

    1. No, we're not gullible - at least about synchros.
